I am a very experienced French tutor (tutoring for over 10 years) for all ages and all levels, offering mostly online one-to-one lessons (but will consider in-person depending on location).

I have developed easy grade boosting techniques, tips and resources for getting the top marks for all GCSE and A Level exam boards, and for the 13+ common entrance exams. I am up to date with the 2026 changes to the GCSE exam format. I have also had experience coaching for the DELF exams.

Confidence is key: I am patient and adaptable, each lesson is tailored to your needs and goals. I make the lessons fun, dynamic and interactive. Most importantly I aim to make every pupil feel that they can progress with confidence in the language by ensuring that they have a solid understanding of the basics, which can sometimes get overlooked in the classroom leaving the pupil feeling overwhelmed and left behind. I can quickly pin point exactly which areas need improvement and plan lessons accordingly.

Online lessons are a fantastic tutoring method, using a shared screen and access to a shared Google Doc where I download resources which we work on simultaneously which allows immediate feedback and also means that the student has a document for revision (particularly useful for Y11's speaking booklet - I will add grade boosting complex sentence structures to their answers (which are also essential for the writing paper) and apply my own version of phonics to help with pronunciation, the majority of my GCSE students achieve a 'distinction' in the speaking paper).

In addition I teach adults at all levels from beginners or those who want to brush up on their conversational and/or business French.

Having lived and worked in France for 3 years (as a translator and teacher) I speak French fluently and I have a BA Honours French Degree (2:1 from Nottingham University). If you decide to proceed with regular lessons, I will provide a 4-6 week lesson plan detailing what will be covered in the lessons, if requested.
